Wakeboarding is a surface water sport which involves riding a wake board across a body of water. It is a sport that combines the skills and techniques of water skiing, snow boarding and surfing.
The rider is usually towed behind a wake boarding boat, typically at speeds of 20 km/h, depending on the board size, rider’s weight, type of tricks and rider’s comfort. A wakeboarder can also be towed by other means, including closed-course cable systems and winches.
Aboveboard has tied in with Dan Kavanagh, one of Irelands leading wake boarders, to teach our wake boarding sessions to the highest standards. Dan has his competition boat drivers license and is a fully qualified wakeboard instructor. So you are guaranteed a smooth session with Dan at the helm.
